A rooftop aperitivo bar · Lisbon

We open when the light gets good.

Golden Hour is six floors up, faces due west, and organises its entire existence around one daily event that has never once been cancelled. Doors at five, sundown toast on the house, last orders when the lights of the bridge win.

The evening

Timed to the sun, daily.

The sunset moves; so do we. The board by the lift shows tonight's times, calculated properly, because we take exactly one thing seriously.

  1. Doors

The roof opens, the west rail fills last — everyone thinks they have time. The regulars go straight there with the paper and something long.

  2. The settle

Twenty minutes before sundown the music comes down a notch and the kitchen sends up the good olives unasked. You'll notice the light start showing off.

  3. The toast

At the moment of sundown: a small pour on the house, every guest, every night, no exceptions since we opened. To the day, whatever it did.

  4. The blue hour

The city lights take over, the list shifts to the darker drinks, and the roof does its second-best trick: making people stay one more.

The list

Short, seasonal, sun-adjacent.

Ten drinks, changed with the season. Filter by where the sun is.

The roof

Built for the last hour of light.

The deck is oriented to the degree — the architect argued for a better floor plan and lost to the sunset. Low chairs, wool blankets after October, and heaters we turn on before you have to ask.

The west rail is first come, first served and produces more proposals per square metre than any register office in the city. We keep a bottle of the good stuff below the bar for exactly those moments.

From the rail

Said at sundown

The whole roof goes quiet for the toast. Sixty strangers raising a free pour at the sky like it's normal. It becomes normal. Then it becomes necessary.
Inês M.West rail regular
I proposed at the rail. The barman had the good bottle out before she'd finished saying yes. They've done this before and it shows.
Miguel & SaraEngaged, floor six
Came at five like a tourist, stayed till close like a local. The blue hour list is a trap and I walked in willingly.

Book

Tables, not the rail.

Tables for two to six, booked by the evening. The west rail stays first come — some things shouldn't be reservable.
