Grid & Co. is a two-desk design studio working the way this city taught everyone to: twelve columns, two typefaces, one red. Identities, editions and wayfinding — built to survive their third art director.

The discipline
Every job starts the same way: the content is weighed, the grid is drawn, and from then on the layout is not a matter of opinion. Twelve columns settle in an afternoon what taste committees debate for a month.
It isn't austerity for its own sake. A strict system is what lets the one red square land like a shout in a quiet room — spend everything everywhere and nothing is loud.
House arithmetic
Method
We rewrite your brief as one sentence and send it back. When you agree with the sentence, the job exists.
Format, columns, type scale and the red's one job — decided on paper before anything glows.
You see two directions that both work, not twenty that might. Choosing takes a meeting, not a quarter.
Files, specimens and a rulebook blunt enough that the system survives whoever inherits it.
White space is not empty. It is load-bearing.
We take four identity jobs a year and as many editions as the calendar survives. Say what you make and what isn't working.
